Audio Streams

An audio stream is a single audio playback instance. Whenever your SitePal character speaks, the audio is streamed from Oddcast's servers over the Internet. This counts as 1 audio stream. Simply put, audio streams are the number of times your SitePal character speaks.

For example, if your SitePal character is on a web page that receives 10,000 page-views you should expect to use 10,000 audio streams. Similarly, if a visitor plays an audio message five times in a single session, then five audio streams will have been consumed. To optimize your use of audio streams & improve user experience, you may set a "playback limit". Several playback limit options are available to you to finetune stream use.

Each SitePal package is bundled with a different number of audio streams so you may choose a package that best serves your website needs. Should you run low on streams we will send you an automated email message, so that you may purchase additional streams or upgrade to a different package. Unused audio streams are rolled over into the following month.

SitePal Scenes

A Scene in SitePal is an animated character with an audio message and a background. To get a speaking SitePal character into your web page, you assign a character of your choice to any of your Scenes, assign an audio for the character to speak, select a background, and copy the embed code for that Scene into your web page.

Each SitePal package is bundled with a different number of Scenes. For example, if your package comes with five Scenes, you can display up to five different characters, though you can use the same Scene in multiple pages on your site.

Licensed Domains

SitePal provides licensed domains as a security feature. To ensure that dynamic TTS streams from your account are not inappropriately used, you must specify the domains (i.e. www.mycompany.com) which are authorized to play your streams. We allow you to optionally enforce licensed domain security for all your stream playbacks (not just dynamic TTS). You may modify your licensed domains at anytime.

Text-to-Speech

With SitePal's Text-to-Speech (TTS) functionality, you can make your SitePal characters speak written text in a natural sounding voice. Simply type in a script in an input box to create audio for your character to speak.

SitePal Supports TTS in two useful ways which we refer to as static and dynamic. Static TTS audio is audio which you assign to your Scene, to be played back later on. Dynamic TTS audio is audio that is generated in real-time when a visitor interacts with your web page. Using dynamic TTS allows your SitePal character to speak a message that is generated "on the fly" for a particular visitor! Note: dynamic TTS requires programming.

Lead Generation

Lead Generation allows your SitePal speaking character to collect contact information from your web site visitors - information such as phone numbers or email addresses. The collected information is emailed to you in real time, and collected in a report you can review anytime. No programming is required to use this feature.

FAQ Solution

Using the FAQ feature your SitePal character can be preconfigured to answer your website visitors' questions. Simply enter your questions and setup the corresponding audio answers.

Publish to eBay

With SitePal's "publish to eBay" functionality, you can easily incorporate your SitePal virtual salesperson into your eBay auctions without programming! Imagine being able to add your own speaking salesperson to promote your auctions.

Integrate with Flash

You can integrate your SitePal characters into Flash movies and create seamless presentations. Advanced users can extend this functionality by using SitePal's ActionScript API to create very rich interactive multimedia experiences. SitePal supports AS2 and AS3 integration.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) / Chat

SitePal's AI knowledge base comes loaded with more than 40,000 different topics, which you can customize for your own needs. This technology lets your users look for answers in a much more intuitive and enjoyable way by having a two way conversation with your SitePal virtual character.

Removal of SitePal Branding

Every SitePal Scene briefly displays the SitePal logo when it is being loaded. With the Gold Package & up you can remove SitePal branding from all your SitePal Scenes. With the Platinum Package you can replace our branding with your own by uploading your own custom loaders.

Server API

Advanced Asset Management

Advanced asset management allows you to manage hundreds or even thousands of audios and backgrounds. Perform audio and background searches, sort and filter, bulk upload and make bulk changes to these assets.
